A movement is born
In 2023, a bold coalition of faith-inspired philanthropies and donors came together around a shared conviction: that preventable maternal deaths are not inevitable—they are unjust. Centered on the realities faced by mothers across the Global South, what began as a series of conversations quickly evolved into For Mama—a global charitable and advocacy campaign calling on communities everywhere to ask what we can, and must, do for mama.
In its first year, the campaign mobilized over $13 million during Ramadan 2024, raising unprecedented awareness and inspiring thousands of people across more than 130 countries to stand in solidarity with mothers and babies in need. That momentum accelerated in 2025, with nearly 38,000 donors contributing over $21 million, helping deliver life-saving maternal and newborn care to more than half a million women in crisis-affected and under-resourced settings, where the burden of maternal mortality is highest.
In 2026, the movement reached a historic breakthrough. Through a global coalition of partners and supporters, the Ramadan campaign mobilized over $91 million in just one month, engaging over 192,000 donors worldwide and marking one of the largest community-driven fundraising efforts ever for maternal and newborn health.
In just three years, this movement has mobilized nearly $130 million, demonstrating the extraordinary power of collective, faith-inspired action at scale.
Today, For Mama has grown into Every Pregnancy—a global, partnership-driven organization leading a new model for maternal health. By uniting frontline organizations across the Global South, mobilizing communities, and channeling resources where they are needed most, Every Pregnancy is working to ensure that every mother has a safe pregnancy and every baby a healthy start.

As Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in the Qur’an: “Whoever saves one life, it is as though they have saved all of mankind” (Surah al-Mā’idah 5:32). So if we are able to play a role in saving lives, especially the lives of mothers and their children, then what a noble and tremendous cause that truly is. So when I was invited to support Every Pregnancy in their work, alḥamdulillāh, I saw it as a deeply meaningful opportunity. While feeding people, building boreholes, and providing financial aid are all incredibly important, this is a charity focusing on an area that is often overlooked. It is therefore an honour to work with them and to support their efforts in any capacity that I can.
