VITAL’s story began in Rehri Goth – a disadvantaged peri-urban community of over 60,000 residents on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan. Through baseline surveys conducted in the fishing community in 2012 and 2013, we learned that Rehri Goth had 57 infant deaths per thousand live births and 107 deaths per thousand live births among children under five. A comprehensive vision of health was needed to support those who were consistently being left behind. Thus began VPT’s journey. Currently, VPT is present in 4 sites across Karachi, providing free integrated healthcare services to mothers and children.



In the underserved slums of Karachi and remote areas of Sindh in Pakistan, VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) transforms healthcare of women and babies. Operating across 74+ locations, VPT provides comprehensive care, free of cost. This includes regular checkups, ultrasounds, nutritional vouchers, safe deliveries, and referrals to hospitals for healthier pregnancies. Our innovative Vital Digital Platform ensures real-time health tracking, enabling frontline workers to deliver timely interventions. This ensures that mothers and children not only survive but thrive in the crucial early years of life.
