Dear supporters,

As this year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting not just on what we achieved, but on how much has changed and how deeply grateful I feel.

This was the year when For Mama became something more than a campaign. It became Every Pregnancy: a faith-led movement built on partnership, and a shared belief that no woman should die in pregnancy and childbirth. This transformation happened during a time of global uncertainty: when aid models were being destroyed, women’s rights were under attack, and the need to act differently, and more boldly, felt impossible to ignore.

New data reminded us why this work matters so deeply. It showed that while maternal mortality continues to decline globally, progress is slowing and becoming more unequal. Too many preventable deaths are still happening in places affected by conflict, displacement, and fragile health systems. Where a woman lives continues to shape her chances of survival. Sitting with that reality is painful, but it is also what keeps me, my colleagues, and our partners, going.

In our very first year as a formal organization, I have been humbled by what we have achieved together. Our coalition grew from 33 to 50+ partners, and mobilized over $38 million to date, reaching more than half a million mothers and newborns with life-saving care. Even more powerful to me, was seeing our partners move proven innovations, like the E-MOTIVE postpartum hemorrhage bundle and portable ultrasound, into the hands of health workers serving women in the most difficult settings, from Gaza to Yeman, Pakistan to Nigeria..

Our advocacy at the World Health Assembly and the United Nations General Assembly reminded me that faith-inspired, community-rooted movements need to guide action in global spaces. Not as an afterthought, but as essential drivers in shaping solutions.

We ended the year together at our annual partner convening, which made clear that when we act together by sharing evidence, removing barriers, and backing what works, we can close the gap between innovation and impact.

On a personal note, this year marked my first as CEO of Every Pregnancy, a role that has been both the greatest honor and the most humbling responsibility of my life. I led this work not only as a CEO, but as a mother and a Muslim woman, carrying with me the weight and wonder of what it means to nurture life while fighting for others to have that same chance. Motherhood has sharpened everything: my urgency, my clarity, and my conviction that we cannot accept slow or unequal progress when every loss is preventable. My faith grounds me in this mission, keeps me steadfast through challenges, reminds me of the sacredness of this work, and fuels my belief that every mother and baby deserves the chance to thrive.

This is just the start, but our coalition is already showing what becomes possible when diverse people move together, guided by faith and knowing that there are solutions to solving an injustice that is felt deeply by many of us. Thank you, for believing in this movement, for standing with mothers, and for turning conviction into action.

With gratitude and excitement about what is to come,

Isra Chaker
